Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia
I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any fellow human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it for I shall not pass this way again. ~Stephen Grellet

Falling Back

So, tonight we turn the clocks back an hour. I'm kind of looking forward to an extra hour of sleep (which I will get unless I decide to stay awake an extra hour!). Apparently, last year I had some "issues" with Daylight Savings Time. Interesting that I was in the midst of a three day stretch at work then as well. I will say that I made some valid points. Too bad this article wasn't available then, although I'm not sure it would have made much of a difference! I also went back and read all of the posts I made last November . Pretty interesting stuff...especially since a lot has happened in a year, but there are also quite a few similarities in what I feel now to what I wrote then. It does seem like I had a pretty emotional November last year, but also did a bit of growing in various aspects of my life.

Well, I was offered the chance to have tomorrow off on more than one occasion. On Thursday when I was at choir practice, I thought that I would take Sunday off if it was offered so I would be able to go to church. However, I decided to say "no thank you" and will go to work for my third day in a row. That is one reason I said "no"--tomorrow will be my third day with one of my patients, so I know her really well. I know what I am getting into and it SHOULDN'T be too bad. I'm thinking I should save my "day off" for a day when I have something exciting planned, or if I have such a yucky day that I don't want to go back the following day if I don't have to :o) I also just had two weeks off, and used three days of PTO. It doesn't accrue very quickly, and is the same as "sick time". I definitely wouldn't be able to afford days off without pay, so probably should try and keep a little PTO cushion :o) PLUS, I get an extra hour of sleep, so getting up early for the third day in a row shouldn't be so bad!

I suppose if I really want to get my extra hour of sleep, I should go to bed now.
Good night!
