Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia
I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any fellow human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it for I shall not pass this way again. ~Stephen Grellet

Getting in the Spirit

So, the other evening, I had an "email conversation" with Emily . She, I mean "it was" decided that I should make a playlist of Christmas music. I contemplated trying to get Kristy to make one... However, it isn't like I didn't have the time to try and make one (plus, you know, it was MY idea!), so I went for it! It took me a while trying to get a good mix of songs and artists. I am definitely open to requests because it wasn't THAT hard to do! I hope everyone who visits my blog enjoys the music. For some reason, I am having trouble with my speakers (recall I had to send my computer away in March to get the speakers fixed and it took me until today to get everything back the way I like it...argh!) so can't even listen to my own playlist.

I have not put out any Christmas decorations in three years. I have a tiny tree from when I lived in an apartment, but even that one didn't make it out. Last week, I found an artificial tree on sale and decided I wanted to have a full-size tree this year. Today, I turned it from this:

To this:

I need to fix some of the holes and buy some lights. I think I have some ornaments, but it has been a family tradition to get ornaments every year for Christmas. So, it is likely that I could have "29" ornaments to bring from my parents' house to mine. Maybe tomorrow I will get the rest of my decorations out.

The wedding yesterday was really nice. Unfortunately, I wasn't very happy with the outfit I chose. Or, more specifically, the choice in shoes. I rarely wear heels because I have bunions and don't enjoy causing myself unnecessary pain. So, I brought along two pairs of flats...not realizing that EVERYONE ELSE would be wearing heels. Of course, it shouldn't matter what "everyone else" wants to do to their feet, but I am by far the shortest person in the family (at just short of 5 feet). I don't normally FEEL that short, but when everyone is wearing heels on top of the fact that I really am short...needless to say, I was really crabby about the fact that I didn't think to at least bring a pair of heels as an "option"...

There were only a couple other incidents of "drama", but overall considering the number of people there, that is pretty good :o) It snowed overnight, so we got the first taste of winter (it didn't snow enough at home for any accumulation).
