I'm not sure why, but this song keeps playing in my head. Of course, it is one of the "random" songs on my iPod, but it has actually been quite a few days since it has played (there are about 300 songs in there, so quite a bit of time passes in between "repeats"). I remember it bringing me to tears at my "8th Grade Retreat". I had always been a "likeable person", but often struggled when it came to feeling like I "belonged". At that moment, I was about to leave behind many of those I had known for what seemed like my whole life. These words really spoke to me as I wondered what God had in store for me. High school was to be a big step, but I was determined to find my place, even deciding to try and make ALL new friends. Again, finding "my place" was a struggle, but I did come away with a few really good friends. The whole "belonging thing" continues to be a struggle to this day. While I have some AMAZING people in my life, I keep hearing these words and wonder...
I will let these words do the rest of my talking for the night...especially since, as written in my previous post, words have been hard to come by these days...
Place In This World
Michael W. Smith
The wind is moving
But I am standing still
A life of pages
Waiting to be filled
A heart that's hopeful
A head that's full of dreams
But this becoming
Is harder than it seems
Feels like I'm
Chorus:
Looking for a reason
Roaming through the night to find
My place in this world
My place in this world
Not a lot to lean on
I need your light to help me find
My place in this world
My place in this world
If there are millions
Down on their knees
Among the many
Can you still hear me
Hear me asking
Where do I belong
Is there a vision
That I can call my own
Show me I'm
Chorus
P.S. If you actually know me, take a close look at the video about two minutes in...now THAT gave me chills.
Good Night.
