The title of this post has many meanings. Here are a few that are on my mind:
- I only had to work ONE day out of the last four, and now have four days off--can't beat THAT schedule!
- The little girl I wrote about last week seems to be improving, she is here on earth another day. Praying for her family, praying that God's will be done.
- My friend's son did not respond to the first round of treatment for his rejection. Today he began a seven-day course of the second-line of therapy. Praying his side effects are minimal, and the drug does its job. Praying for his family, as they will be spending his birthday, and probably Christmas, away from home.
- Yesterday my boss lost her father. Her mother got home from a day of volunteering at the hospital and found him dead. What a horrible day. Praying for God to help them through this difficult time.
The quote that began each of my college application essays was "Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today." I think that rings true as much today as it did TEN years ago when I wrote that essay--embrace each day, live as if there is no tomorrow :o)
I'm excited for my days off! I have Christmas cards to write, email addresses to obtain, gifts to make, a friend's house to paint, books to read, horse races to bet on...SO much!
