Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia
I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any fellow human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it for I shall not pass this way again. ~Stephen Grellet

In the Spirit

At around 10:30 this evening, I finally decided to at least put up my little tree. I didn't remember that I had left the lights on (and the bow that the "A-team mom" had put on the tree when she used it last year). So, it took less than five minutes to pull it out of the box, put it on my piano, and plug it in. Can't believe it took me until December 22 to do that, but it's up. I couldn't figure out how to take a good picture of it, so this is it...

Thankfully, this quote came in my "inbox" today, which made me feel like less of a "Scrooge"...
"It is Christmas every time you let God love others through you... yes, it is Christmas every time you smile at your brother and offer him your hand." ~Mother Teresa 1910-1997
I'm working tomorrow...they will probably call to see if I want the day off, but as of right now, I think I will go to work. Unfortunately, the forecast doesn't look very good for the rest of this week, so I am packing a bag with hopes I will not need to spend the night at the hospital (but at least I will be prepared if I have to). It actually may be tougher to get there on the 25-26 since the worst is supposed to hit on the 24th, but at least I live close to work (and my parents are willing to drive me in their vehicle with four-wheel drive if necessary)
Well, I'd better head to bed in case the bad weather hits while I'm asleep and I need to shovel before I go to work...hopefully not because that is not fun!
Good night.
