Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia
I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any fellow human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it for I shall not pass this way again. ~Stephen Grellet

May Vacation Number One

So, I was going to try and make a slide show of vacation pictures LAST night. However, I was having major technical difficulties and my computer took FOREVER to get the pictures from my memory card onto my computer. Seriously, I think it took like an hour and by that point, I was SO frustrated that I didn't even want to try to put together a slide show.

It was a really fun time, and I am glad it worked for me to be able to go. These relatives--my aunt, uncle, cousins, and my uncle's parents--were my family when I was away at college. I went to school hundreds of miles away from home, so was unable to come home for all school breaks. I spent Labor Days, fall breaks, my birthdays, Thanksgiving, spring breaks, Easters, etc. with them. I watched my little cousins get taller than me (at barely 5 feet, they were not very old when they reached THAT milestone!) and now I got to see my cousin graduate from high school (and ride with my other cousin behind the wheel!)

All of these pictures are "unedited", so you will have to wait for the really good pictures after my NEXT May vacation :o) My dad was so excited to meet his favorite jockey and get his autograph, and I am glad I had my camera in my hand at the time! I think if I can get someone to turn it into a nice 5 x 7 photograph (hint, hint!), it would be a GREAT Father's Day gift :o)

Anyway, I managed to be very unproductive today...shocking, I know! I did go to Curves for the first time in 20 days (no wonder the number on the scale keeps going up!) Then, I went with my mom to get a pedicure (very nice!) I stopped by work to get my schedule and fill in the schedule for the next month since I don't ACTUALLY work again until late next week! Kind of crazy to go to work on my day off, but the meeting I lead is also next week and I had stuff I needed to print off for that too.

I leave for my next vacation in less than 60 hours...crazy! I am really excited though (and even have quite a fun things planned BETWEEN now and then!)

Good night.

Great Pictures of a great time Amanda. I am so glad you got to go and spend time with everyone on such a special occasion:) I know you will have fun on your next adventure with Ginger. I know she can use the get away and you girls will have fun. Tell her Hi for me, I don't think she knows who I am, but I follow her and pray for her. Have a safe trip and wonderful time meeting our blog friend face to face. Maybe Kristy will have Miss Baby Bolte during this time:)

Love and Hugs, Laurie
